In May Erin, Michael, Carolyn, Mary and Ed spent a week visiting Alison in San Francisco. Alison showed us places in the San Francisco we have never been.
We will upload photos of the trip later, but so far all we have produced is a video of our electric bicycle adventure riding 20 miles across the Golden Gate bridge. See the adventure by clicking HERE.
2010 Mother's Day celebration on the screened porch for two mothers.
Alison continues to enjoy the scenery of Northern California, driving down to Carmel, Monterrey and the Big Sur and hiking Point Lobos. Mary, Erin, Michael and Carolyn will be visiting Alison for a week soon.
She enjoys parties with new friends in San Francisco.
Alison hiked up Mount Davidson in San Francisco to attend an Easter Sunrise Service. Good exercise for the body and soul!
With an elevation of 928 feet, Mount Davidson is the highest natural point in San Francisco, California, and is located near the geographical center of the city, south of Twin Peaks. Mt. Davidson's most notable feature is the 103-foot cross situated on the crest of the hill.
At 4 months old, Carolyn Elise, continues to explore her world; smelling flowers while on her Bumbo seat, exercising under her kick apparatus, blowing bubbles and raspberries, easting out, or watching Chobe the puppy. We get to watch her progress, but because we live a distance away, we missed her first rollover last week.
Last weekend, she was a perfect little lady for several hours during a wedding and reception up in the Georgia Mountains.
Another trip over the Golden Gate and Alison headed for Sonoma County to cycle along the coast. The photo on the right is of Bodega Head.
Alison moved from Seattle to San Francisco late in 2009 and is now settled in her apartment. She plans to see how she likes living in the city and is testing the job market for several months.
She is enjoying living in the city and is also exploring the area. On the left is a photo she took of the Golden Gate with her iPhone before she crossed over to Sausalito on her bike, about 20 miles in 2 hours.
On the right is another photo she took of a view west from Presidio Park while biking.
Below left is Baker Beach and below right is a view from Mount Tamalpais, in Tamalpais State Park north of San Francisco. Alison biked to the top, enjoying views back over San Francisco Bay and vistas out to the Pacific Ocean. It's a long way up that mountain.
Atlanta had a beautiful snowfall in mid February. It was pretty cold, so Ed took these photos out our windows.
We had the opportunity to babysit our granddaughter Carolyn while Erin and Michael were in Florida the last week of January.
She is on track for weight for her 9-week age and in the 83% decile for head size, which Erin hopes is due to a smart brain.
We all also hope her eyes stay blue! Michael took the photo on the right, which focuses on her eyes.
Carolyn loves her swing, tummy time and, of course, bottle time; but her favorite time is bath time. Cyber is always watching her, including at bath time. In fact, now Cyber gets in the large bathtub while Carolyn is having her bath in her baby tub.
